Sea Fishing Trips

The club has run a number of sea fishing trips already in March and April. In March 5 members fished and in April we had two boats. Minehead was the venue for both trips and despite there being more dogfish than usual, the crew managed to catch many different species including rays (spotted, blonde, small eyed and thornback), bull huss, smoothounds, congers and a sizeable tope! For the May trips we are targeting similar species but additionally Pollock and bass on lures.

All of the bait is supplied and as much help given by the skippers as you want. So trips suit beginners up to experienced anglers – and tackle can be hired onboard too.

Marford Stick float clinic with Keith Arthur and Cadence Tackle boss – James Robbins Tuesday October 7^th.

Pike event / social at Smallford – November

August sea fishing – Brighton and Levington (likely to be lure fishing) and Minehead for general bottom sea fishing on the Bristol Channel grounds.

July for a methods clinic at Riverside Road

Tackle open day for Cadence tackle

Members “bring and buy” – we all have excess tackle and we plan to hold a second hand buy sell event – with a donation or small % going to club funds.
