River Great Ouse – Sharnbrook

In 2022, the Club lost the fishing rights to much of this stretch following a change in farm management. We understand there are plans for riverside development and improvements to the nearby caravan park. The Club continues to monitor the situation and will represent members’ interests with the relevant authorities where necessary.

The Club now retains the far bank from Pinchmill Islands to the Viaduct, including all of the islands. However, access via the caravan park is no longer permitted, and the islands are currently inaccessible. We are exploring alternative access routes and will update members if these become available.

Access

Access is now only available from the Viaduct end. Parking is provided in the field next to Coffle End Cottages. From there, walk past the cottages, through the five-bar gate and across the field to reach the river.

This section offers easier fishing, with less bankside vegetation and a slightly faster flow.
