Your Specialist Committee

We are always in danger of assuming that you the members know all about the Specialist Committee. We forget that each year we have a large number of new members who have not come across us before. Therefore, it is probably worth a quick run-through of who we are and what we do.

The VAC Specialist Committee was formed five years ago to promote and encourage specimen fishing. We hold a regular series of events designed to introduce people to new aspects of our sport, and to target quarries they may not previously have considered. We cover a broad spectrum and offer something for everybody (we hope!). Our events are very well-attended, and they are a great place to meet like-minded souls and to get involved with your fellow club members.

A lot of our calendar of events is now well-established, as we’ve been running these for a number of years. We are always looking to introduce a few new events however, and are always open to suggestions. To give you an idea of what’s available, our 2011 calendar is below. We appreciate that some of these events have been and gone, but they will undoubtedly feature in next year’s calendar so it gives you a flavour of what we are about.

As you can see, there’s usually a lot going on. We also host some more “social” events through the course of the year, which are generally announced on the forum and via e-news if a newsletter is not imminent. Please check our Specialist section of the club website for up to date info on all events. This is also a great place to see reviews of past events, interesting articles by club members, loads of pictures and video footage. What better way to spend a lunch hour?

Get involved – you’ll enjoy it!
