Venue Records

Early in 2008 the Verulam Angling Specialist Committee undertook to establish a new list of venue records. It was agreed to draw a line under captures from previous years and establish a new list of best based on agreed process and judgement. It was recognised that this will mean that that some venues will be show 'records' well below the maximum sizes known to inhabit the venue and that many members will not readily step forward to claim records. Therefore, these lists should be viewed in that context and not for making judgement on the potential of each venue*

To claim a venue record you will need to comply with the agreed rules which are summarised below. Click here to download a full .PDF copy

1. Claims can only be submitted for captures from VAC waters or affiliated waters
2. Claims can only be submitted from anglers who were VAC members at the time of the capture
3. Claims are valid only if the capture was made on, or after 16th June 2008
4. A member wishing to make a claim must submit the following;
     Details of the date, venue and weight of the fish
     A picture of the fish (see rule 5 for exceptions)
     Name and address of a witness to the capture (must also be a VAC member)
5 The requirement for a picture is waived if the capture is made during an official VAC match, and is witnessed by a member of the VAC Match Committee
6 All claims to be submitted to the VAC Specialist Committee, who will adjudicate. The Specialist Committee's decision is final.

'Buz' Burry is the committee's claim co-ordinator. To claim please use our standard claim form that can be downloaded here (right-click then Save Target As). It's in MS Wordpad format (.rtf) so any Windows PC should be able to open and edit it. Please return completed forms and photos, ideally by email, to Buz - click here for email link.
