Commentary: Expectations were high for this match on a new water for the VAC. A recent Open had been won with 71lb of big carp and most anglers were tipping back 20lb+ bags of quality roach. Whilst the weather was kind (but windy) the match hit some early problems when it was found that another open was also scheduled on the same day and members attending found themselves split over two car parks.
As it happened, we all managed to fit on and the results below show just what an even venue it was. The open was won with just 37lb and Brian even beat Dave Coster, now a venue regular and just two pegs away who was quick to point out that the venue fished well below form
