Commentary: What a match!!! A new total weight record and a new record average per angler. At the very wet weigh in (it had been raining for the last two hours) it wasn't clear who had won but certainly Neil and Roger, pegged at 7 & 6 respectively, had done well with some slightly larger carp from under the bank side trees.

With most people catching on pellet and/or paste at around 5m it was all about speed and the numbers of fish in the swim. And once the fish arrived, carp around the 1-2lb mark, keeping them there.
Derek Smith had clearly done the best on the dam end by the overflow and produced 115lb. This was soon beaten as the scales got around to Neil with 121-7. But Neil had lost a lot of fish in the sunken tree whereas Roger next door had made no mistakes with 155lb. Over on the far bank Tim was in the same peg as last year and was pipped by an ounce out of 3rd place and Stan's guest Nadji, hidden away on peg 1, nearly upset the frame with an excellent 149lb for a close 2nd. |

As Winter arrives and we're scratching for ounces, this fantastic Autumn bag-up session will be longingly remembered.
