Verulam One Hour Whip Fishing Match

The matches will take place after the VAC coaching session at riverside road fishery, arrive 4pm and the match will start at 4:30pm, and will finish at 5:30pm. All participants will need to book in to the matches by calling roger smith 07585004485, the dates of the matches will be:

July: Saturday 2nd / Sunday 17th / Saturday 30th

August: Saturday 13th / Saturday 27th

September: Saturday 10th / Saturday 24th

There is no cost for entering the matches and all equipment can be provided by verulam angling club but some advance notice will be required.

Match Rules

1. Whip only match, whip to be a maximum length of 4 meters.

2. Elasticated whips may be used.

3. Each person taking part in the match may only fish with 1 whip.

4. The match will be peg down and the draw will be at the discretion of organiser.

5. The match will be one hour long.

6. There will be two competitions per match, beginners and intermediates. Each person will be graded by the organisers in to beginners and interments, people may be re graded at the end of each match by the discretion of the organiser.

7. The prise money will be split as follows for both competitions 1st £10 and then 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th £5.

8. The age of the participant will be between four year and sixteen years old, each participant may receive coaching from an adult or guardian during the match but the participant must fish for themselves.

9. The organizer has the right to change the time and the venue of each match.

10. If the conduct of a participant is deemed to be dangerous or unbecoming the organiser has the discretion to remove or ban that person from fishing any of the matches.

11. The winner of the match will be decided by weight of fish caught using the organisers official scales, pike and trout will not be weighed in. All fish above the weight of 3lb’s will count as 3lb’s only.
