It's been all go in August with a number of good fish being
reported and some great pictures from members. And, wow, the
forum has proved very popular and therefore we should be loosing
the irritating pop-ups very soon.
A number of double figure barbel from our Ouse venues, barbel
over 7lb from Marford along with carp to 14lb, good numbers of
carp to over 25lb from Smallford including a 24lb fish to Dan
Patrick - on the pole !!! Also, low levels on the Frogmore car
park lake prompted the transfer of seven carp between 14lb &
20lb to Smallford.
Elsewhere, the club is close to announcing a new water on the
upper Lea, and discount access to a commercial water at Eaton
Bray. We have also acquired a small stock pond in the St Albans
area which will provide fresh stocks of tench and carp and can
report a new five hour match record of 168-08 of carp to Steve
Burfoot from Rolfs Lake (part of a total of 1,700lb of carp to
24 VAC anglers).

when they have an appetite for 11mm Halibut
pellets !! Also at Marford, many get to see
it but few put this lovely 10lb Ghostie on
the bank. Keep 'em coming Bernie.

A determined performance by a dozen VAC
match men competing in the Division 3 NFA
National on the Stainforth & Keadby Canal
could only put them in 34th place out of 51
teams. Kev Marslin had 1.77kg for our top
points of 41 out of 51 in his section.
Closer to home, after the big bags of carp
at Rolfs Lake it was down to earth on Sunday
5th Sept with 8-08 of small roach and dace
for Brian Lakin to win at Sonning on the
