    Membership Hits 1000 !!

The club is delighted to announce that for the second year running membership has passed the 1000 mark. This is taken as a reflection of the high quality of our waters and the amount of effort and cash the club puts into ensuring that members get value for money. If you're not a member but thinking of joining please note that from October we will be offering half price subscriptions. More details next month.

       Explosion at Riverside

The end of the August saw an explosion in the numbers of Crays at Riverside Rd. But the fisheries committee are not ones for just sitting around and have quickly responded....

    Crayfish @ Riverside

Not a problem at Riverside Big problem at Riverside

A further 35 traps have been installed and are being emptied almost daily. Over a thousand Crayfish a week have been removed and numbers are already starting to fall. Traps have also been placed into the River Ver at the outfall from Riverside to prevent further Crayfish from entering our fishery.

Please remember that we ask members not to touch or empty the traps otherwise it becomes difficult in tracking numbers. Any Crayfish caught should not be returned.

    River Ivel

Sorry about the delay in issuing details on this new fishery. Completion of agreements with the controlling bodies has taken longer than anticipated. Should all be ready for October.

    Your contribution here?

Any articles, photos and comments would be welcome. With a thousand members I'm sure some of you must be capable of producing some quality photos of fish from club waters.

    Mark Marslin

Here's young Mark Marslin with his 2nd place catch of 12lb 12oz in the recent Triangle match at Riverside. Unfortunately the older team members didn't do enough to stop Barnet from beating the VAC by six points.
