Free Membership

for our 2,000 member

It was just 10 years ago, November 2000, when the VAC membership totals passed the 1,000 mark. That was a real milestone in itself at a time of uncertainty for angling clubs. This success was not by chance. For many years the VAC has been fortunate to have a well balanced General Committee (GC) lead by talented Chairmen who have formulated and then  followed a clear but careful growth strategy. This has allowed for the additional income from annual growth to enhance existing venues and to deliver on the promise of at least one new water per year.

This growth continued to the point where last season we ended on 1,987 members. An amazing achievement when you consider that most angling clubs in the South-East are struggling to maintain membership numbers. At the end of September membership for the current season stood at exactly 1,900. Traditionally we get an influx of new subscriptions when we launch, from November 1st, our Half-Year option. Therefore, this year, the GC has agreed that the 2,000th member will get his or her payment refunded in recognition of this historic event.

Letters are now going out to those who have yet to rejoin from last year. If you are one of these or if you are a prospective new member then now is the time to check out our membership options and sign up to probably the best angling club in the Soouth-East.

For details of our membership options including the Half -Year deal please click the Subscription tab above.

Not a Leather....technically this 32lb caught by Tom Stevens is a Mirror as it has a handful of scales.

This season has been a great one for specimen fish on VAC and associate waters. Not just carp but big barbel, roach, chub, bream, perch...the list goes on. Unlike some clubs the VAC actively supports its specialist anglers with it's own committee, web pages and numerous events through the season such as the popular barbel and stick float days. Check out the link on the top left for more details.

BELLOWS MILL

Please note that our own new freehold fishery is now closed for redevelopment work. An e-news will go out when it's ready to re-open

Fishers Green Consortium

As the largest club in the newly formed Fishers Green Consortium we are delighted to welcome new members who are particularly keen to fish the former CEMEX fishery.

We appreciate you have a choice of 11 clubs so we hope you will recognise the great value the VAC offers with eight rivers venues, six still water complexes and access to eight other consortiums in addition to Fishers Green.

Membership for 2010-11 Season

Important notice: We've learnt that some who were members last year think that if they've not renewed by June 16 then they have to pay a joining fee again. This is not correct. So long as you rejoin this season at any time you do not need to pay the joining fee. However, should you not renew until next season you previous membership will have been deemed to have lapsed. You will retain your member ID, it stays with you for life, but if you let your membership lapse for one or more complete seasons a joining fee will be required when you come back. If you were a member last season and have not yet renewed you can download a form, get a form from one of our local tackle shops or, best of all, renew on-line via Member Services. Once you have completed your details you will need to print out and post back the form with payment and pictures if applicable.

For more information click the Subscriptions button at the top.

HAVE WE GOT YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS?

Remember, that unless your email address is registered on Club DB, our membership database, we can't keep you up to date via e-news nor can we accept your application to join the VAC Forum. To check and update your details see the Subscriptions page

Picture Perfect?

Club DB, our excellent member database, is now serving us well with members able to log in and update their details at any time.

However, a large number of members have not yet sent in or uploaded a passport style picture which we will need to print up your next membership card. We believe we have now resolved some the technical difficulties but for those who cannot upload a suitable picture please find time to either email your photo (quoting ID number) or pop a picture in the post to the Registrar. More details on the Subscriptions page.

Keith Speers put his theory into practice on the Stick Float clinic at Marford last month and landed this 'record gudgeon (!) along with several much larger lumps before letting his 'students' have a go.

It's bad enough when you have to strip off after falling in...but then to have someone take a photo - arghh.

Nick Ceri was one of the stick-float students and enjoyed a great scrap on the float and centre pin from this 6-15 barbel

Moor Mill produced this 16.08 perfect common for Sean Quinn
