Come on in - the water's lovely

It's our pleasure to report that the VAC continues to go from strength to strength with almost 1100 members before the end of September. This is excellent for the club as it means the VAC can continue to invest in new waters, bank side refurbishment and additional fish stocks.

Now that we're in October we can yet again offer prospective new members a very special chance to join the VAC at half price. That means adults can join for just £27.50 + £25 annual subscription providing full access to our waters until next June (subject to applicable close season restrictions).

For further information simply go to our Subscription Page by clicking here.

Meanwhile, existing members are having great success at our waters with double figure carp reported from the Leasey backwater, a 12lb barbel from Felmersham (plus a number of good roach) and a carp of 20lb from Frogmore.

See and hear Des Taylor and Terry Hearn at Fishing Matters More.

At the St Albans Arena, Wednesday 27th November from 7:30pm. Tickets are just £6.50 (concessions £4.50) and VAC members get a £1.50 discount.

Just click the poster on the right for a full size copy with all the details.

And, as before, the VAC will have a stand so come over for a chat and let us know what YOU think of YOUR club.

Match News

This years Division 3 National was a disappointment to our match team with the VAC finishing in 34th place. But congratulations to Peter Fell who finished 11th overall (out of 588) and second in his section.

September also saw a club outing to Rolf's Lake near Oxford and the club five hour match record being beaten (by over 52lb) and now at a new high of 106lb 8oz. Also reported were two 18lb carp and an average weight per man of 34lb.

And, at the end of the month, 22 turned out on the Grand Union at Croxley Moor to witness Dan Patrick win the match in the first ten minutes with this pole caught 18½lb common. Dan then went on to blitz the match with quality bream to weigh in a total of 54lb 13oz. Second place Kev Wilder (on the 'golden peg') included a 2-4 perch and a 2-12 tench in his 13-6-8 weight.
