So much to remember...

Lot's happening this month so here's some things to remember;

Riverside re-opens for coarse fishing on May 14th. Any remaining trout caught can be retained, please pop a pound coin in the box. The water is looking fantastic so go prepared for some arm aching action.

Renewal forms to be completed and returned. If you're not already a member click subscriptions to download the new member forms. If you've not had your renewal forms contact the Registrar.

Tom Hollinshead (who featured last month with a super Marford chub) is front page again with this great shot of a 16-12 common from Smallford. His first ever trip also provided a 13lb'er.

Working parties. Still a chance to lend a hand and get your stamp. Contact the bailiff of you preferred venue to see what dates remain.

Visit Frogmore. The club has worked hard to restore the car park pool and it's now full of water and home to many of the largest carp which were, frankly, too big for the match pool. Along side these are many thousands of small fish making this water now a great place to take your kids, A simple whip and maggots will provide many bites.

Try a VAC match. Come and join us on May 13th at Smallford and Riverside on June 3rd for our warm up matches. Download from the Match pages next seasons fixture list.

Get a digital camera. With over 1650 members you would think I'm swamped with catch pictures to publish - not true. Either many of you do not take a camera or are shy about sending in you snaps. Simply use the webmaster email link to post to me your pictures. Even if they're not a good as Tom's above I can usually trim and enhance them.

Nice One Denis

Older members will be familiar with Denis Bateman. Until recently he held the title of President of the Verulam Angling Club. As this picture  from late April shows, he's recovered from some recent ill health sufficiently enough to bag this cracking trout of 9lb 11oz.

The trout fishing at Riverside this year has been fantastic with nearly 1,000 fish banked. If you would like to have a go next season simply click on the Verulam Trout button to learn more.
