River Monsters
No, not the TV show, instead this month we
applaud yet another brace of magnificent running water fish landed by VAC
Committee members. First up with this fantastic roach is Competitions Chairman
Brian Lakin. Now that the season's programme of matches is over Brian took the
opportunity to visit 'a VAC river venue in Bedfordshire' with pole and caster.
Putting into effect his experience from several trips earlier this year paid
dividends for Brian - the biggest roach reported this season, a stunning 2lb
13oz 8 dram veteran.

Also drawn to running water is Keith Speer. A regular on this page with his
amazing catches, Keith is a VAC Committee member, Fisher Green fishery manager
and stick-float guru.
Keith has obviously won the affections of Lady Luck as this 15-08 lump is his 3rd barbel
this winter over 13lb and, like before, caught on stick float and maggot
presented with his favourite centre-pin reel. But don't go thinking that it's
easy fishing. This beauty was Keith's only bite in many hours of 'trotting the
stream'.

Chris Riley braved winter snows at Marford on the Long Walk
to prove that chub will feed in all conditions.

Also from Marford, this 7inch baby
barbel - the monsters of the future?
Sorry, I've not that many pictures this month.
