BIG Perch.....
|
Committee members and bailiffs
often get asked which of the VAC waters is best for big
specimens of various species. Strangely few ask about perch
yet there can be few other species that looks better than a
big perch. So if you're
looking for big perch you've come to the right place as most
of our portfolio of waters have produced 3lb+ perch this
season. Both our Ouse venues, the Ivel, Moor Mill (School
Pit), Frogmore, Smallford and Leasey Bridge have already
established themselves as holding these super 'sergeant's
and now life member Ash Adams has proved that Riverside Road
also has at least one super specimen.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING to be held on WEDNESDAY 11TH APRIL.
Venue, as usual, is the
the New Greens
Residents Association Hall, High Oaks, St Albans. kick off is
8pm.
Membership
If you are interested in becoming a
member, download the
"Application Form" . Once completed, return it to the
address on the form. You will be notified around the end
of April/early May that membership is available along with
details of the subscriptions. You can then decide if you wish to
take up membership.

Match News
Ash Adams
crowned Champion
The
VAC 06-07 Championship Series
was decided with a clear win for Ash Adams who took equal
3rd on the day at Ivinghoe with a fine 6-14 in atrocious
conditions to win the Championship (pic top right).
Roger Smith's late run floundered with a blank leaving him
in 2nd place (bottom right) and Stan Kiddle had to settle
for 3rd.
Another winner to report is
Colin Winter who was just clear of Cliff Myers by 1.5oz at
the match on the GUC at Leighton Buzzard to take the
Knock-Out title.

8lb but looks a lot bigger to me. |

Hi John,
I'd just like to say that I have
had a super first year as a member of VAC and I've only
fished two of the venues to date. I had a super July, August
and September at Marford Farm and Leasey Bridge taking over
100 barbel up to 8lb 4 oz and 150 chub up to 4lb 3oz. I've
managed a couple of visits in January and February this year
which have also been productive culminating in my best
Barbel to date of 8lb 14oz, taken from the short walk at
Marford Farm last weekend, a picture of which I've attached.
My only grumbles are with regard
to the amount of discarded line I've found in the swims I've
fished plus some hassles I've had with some of our eastern
European friends who have been poaching! I have also found
some rubbish at Marford Farm but I concluded that most of it
probably has been washed down from the public area to the
west of the fishery.
II think VAC is a super club,
many thanks to you and all the other committee members and
club officials who give up their time to make the club the
success it is.
