Young Guns...go for it

Walk around some of the Verulam waters and you would soon get the view that fishing is an old man's sport. We do offer such great value for the senior citizen but this month let's focus on the young blood that are showing us oldies how it's done.

Chief amongst the big fish boys is master Bradley Wiffen. Whilst his mindless peers are hanging around street corners Bradley is hanging around the VAC's big fish waters and has been amply rewarded in recent weeks with this stunning 9lb tench from Smallford...

. this scale perfect 16lb common from Moor Mill's school pit.

Not that Bradley is alone with his catches. Check out the gallery on the right of recent results by our under 18's.

VAC OPEN DAY - Saturday 11th July

The club is opening its gates at Riverside Road once again. Members are invited to bring family and friends to experience all aspects of fishing. Exhibitors from various organisations plus club officers will be ensuring that pleasure, carp, match and fly anglers are catered for. A BBQ will be running throughout.

Gates open at 10am so we look forward to seeing at sometime during the day.

Also, to be announced on the day, a new water for VAC members !!!!!!

Your Contribution

Don't be shy, send your catch pics to the webmaster...

It was a fantastic five for Rhys Shield with barbel between 7-02 and 8-14 at Marford recently.

Bradley's pal Jake Hughes gets amongst the big 'uns as well. Here's a cracking 15lb mirror from Smallford taken on a quick session after school.

Carwyn Thomas Norman must have had arms like windmills at Tony's Lake to have caught nearly 600 rudd for  45lb

12yr old John Stacey (LOL) tried to keep quiet about this ancient mirror from one of the pits at Moor Mill.
