Are you catching?
Membership numbers for the new season are climbing rapidly with
over 200 more than at this time last year and on target for yet
another record. The strange thing is, you are all so modest with
your catches with few members volunteering details.
We know from our
bailiffs that all our local waters are fishing well; Frogmore is
teeming with fish. Riverside is a bite a chuck in many pegs and
Moor Mill and Smallford are producing plenty of action with the
carp, bream and tench.

(surname not supplied) with an 11lb 2oz beauty from the Car Park
Lake at Frogmore
Up on the Ivel,
barbel to over 11lb have been reported plus numerous chub and
roach. Not so easy on the Ouse with the heavy rain in June
making conditions more challenging (but will be perfect for
July).
Elsewhere, on our
shared fisheries we know that good fish are coming out but, once
again, not reported directly and supported by pictures.

The hosting for
www.verulam-angling.co.uk transferred to BT at the end of
June. Sorry if you found us 'offline' a couple of days whilst
this happened. With now five times more bandwidth and the
support of BT behind us, we anticipate a quality web service
from here on.

Last year, our
first National Fishing Week open day, was a great
success. Using lessons learnt we anticipate bigger and
better things for 2007.
It's aimed at
attracting new people, of all ages, into fishing so please
all help to make this another great VAC day.
