10 Reasons to join the VAC

    1. We're one of the few clubs with a growing membership, 50 up on this time last year

    2. Our fish are getting bigger - e.g. carp now to 38lb in Smallford, 19lb in Riverside and 18lb at Frogmore

    3. Match records were broken this season e.g. 35lb or roach in three hours at Riverside

    4. At Marford farm you can almost guarantee a barbel

    5. Juniors under 12 fish for free

    6. Our waters on the Ouse hold double figure barbel and 6lb plus chub

    7. Our waters can always spring a surprise - 15 rudd over 2lb in one session at Smallford

    8. We have an active Trout Section

    9. Our Riverside Rd venue provides a safe and secure venue for ladies

    Links of the Month

Sorry no new ones this month - too busy fishing

Catch up with the laughing hairdresser at

Got a favorite fishing site - then share it with us !

Of course you've got a rod licence so perhaps just bookmark this one for next April

OK...so it's not stopped raining since July, the water's either gin clear or the colour of coffee, the banks are mud baths and the fish seem at times to have flown South.
    A Winter's dawn

So what's the point I'm trying to make? Simple, no-one has ever caught fish by staying at home. Make the effort and the reward, like the misty sunrise above, can make up for the occasional poor day. By the way, the above was the view from my peg on a carp pool in Kent. Five hours for two bites, 3lb and a section win.

    IYour contribution here?

Any articles, photos and comments would be welcome. With a thousand members I'm sure some of you must be capable of producing some quality photos of fish from club waters.

Another one from my collection, young Sam with her first carp, this fat four pounder from the car park pool at Frogmore.
