Good Practice Guide
IT IS VITAL that anglers adopt good practice when fishing. This not only protects YOUR fish, YOUR fisheries, YOUR health but YOUR sport.
The following information we hope will be helpful and promote angling in general.
BEWARE
OF OVERHEAD POWER LINES
We like our members, we want to keep you safe.
WEIL’S DISEASE
ANYONE coming into contact with water that may be contaminated with rat’s urine, should wash their hands with clean water before eating or drinking.
Avoid rubbing nose or mouth whilst fishing.
Cuts or abrasions should be protected with anticeptic cream and completely covered with adhesive plaster.
If you should develop flu-like symtons visit your doctor or hospital informing them that you have been in contact with open water and that they may like to consider a diagnois of Weil’s Disease (Leptospirosis).
PLEASE DON’T FEED
DUCKS AND SWANS
Even after packing up fishing
Don’t encourage them to be attracted to anglers.
DON’T DISCARD UNWANTED BAIT - IT WILL ATTRACT RATS (see above)
