What
can we say about marvellous Marford Farm?
Situated on the River Lee just outside
Wheathampstead on the Welwyn Garden City road,
it is a superb fishery with almost a mile of
bank.

River Lea,
Leasey Bridge |
The
club owns the freehold on this rapidly improving
500 yard stretch of the River Lee and backwater
between the village of Wheathampstead and
Harpenden.

River Ouse, Felmersham |
The
largest of our two Ouse fisheries, some nine
miles north of Bedford. The club now holds
around a mile and a half of riverbank including
meadows, spinney and islands. There is also a
short section near the village church.

River Ouse, Radwell |
This
single bank stretch can probably claim to be one
of the most famous sections of the river because
of its large population of barbel and chub.

River Ouse, Carlton Road |
Situated just north of
Felmersham village, this attractive stretch of
river provides around 30 pegs and will no doubt
prove popular both with our competitions section
as well as the pleasure angler.
Around 1,000 yards in length,
the fishery is on a long sweeping bend of the
river, lined with plantation willows with a
mature tree-lined bank opposite and is only 100
yards from the car park.

Riverside Road,

Albans |
In
the 1960s, not having a long-term secure fishing
in St Albans, the club literally dug this
fishery out of disused watercress beds. Since
then, we have extended the area to what you see
today and it has become the club's prime local
water.

Smallford Pit,

The
largest of our two local gravel pits, Smallford
is open all year round and is situated just off
the St Albans to Hatfield road, approximately
halfway between the two.

Denham - Troy Lake and River Colne backwater
Lake open all year |
THE
VAC have a water sharing agreement with Uxbridge
Rovers AC for fishing on the 45 acre lake and
the adjacent stretch of the River Colne relief
channel. Situated close to the A412 between
Rickmansworth and Denham this water holds a
number of big carp to 43lb plus possible record
tench and bream. The river holds chub, roach and
barbel to specimen sizes

Aylesbury Arm

THE
VAC have a water sharing agreement with the
Tring Anglers Association for fishing on this
prolific section of the Grand Union Canal.
Easily reached from the A41, the VAC has access
to four distinct sections each holding good carp
plus numerous shoals of roach, bream, perch and
other species.

Members whose clubs are affiliated to the LAC
have, for around £10 a year, around 20 miles of
the river from Hertford to Bow at their
disposal. In the VAC, however, you get it for
free!

VAC are affiliated to the London Anglers
Association and this provides club members with
access to miles and miles of quality fishing in
London and the south east at a reduced rate to
that of Associate Membership.
