Autumn at Moor Mill

Following on from last months theme about the VAC's new on-line membership system we are delighted to report that by early June over 1,000 members have renewed their membership this way. This number is well up on previous years so the signs are good for 2009/10.

Although the Registrar is still rushed off his feet we are pushing on and, with immediate effect,  NEW MEMBERS can now apply via the on-line system as well. Although this year payment cannot be made on-line, the beauty of the new system is that your details are correctly recorded not only saving the Registrar considerable effort but also we do not have to decipher some frankly very dodgy handwriting.

VAC Competitions: Ready, Set, GO!

VAC OPEN DAY - Saturday 11th July The club is opening its gates at Riverside Road once again. Members are invited to bring family and friends to experience all aspects of fishing. Exhibitors from various organisations plus club officers will be ensuring that pleasure, carp, match and fly anglers are catered for. A BBQ will be running throughout.   Gates open at 10am so we look forward to seeing at sometime during the day.

Tingrith - important news

Unfortunately our association with Tingrith has come to an end as they have now moved to season ticket only fishing. However, we still have plenty of other associate waters...see below for details.

VAC members, on production of their club card, can fish for no charge subject to conditions. See VAC fisheries page for details.

VAC members can fish The Tring Anglers stretch of the Aylesbury Arm as part of a water share agreement.

Matt Young landed this 4 inch carp from Riverside. It proves at least some of the fry survive.

First day of the coarse season at Riverside and Alf Groom landed this 4.09 bream, a current (pending) venue best.

On the subject of bests...here's Toadless, the VAC's biggest fish and landed at the end of May by 'Martin' at 44.08. 

Match Committee member Nick Darke fished on after the Champ of Champs to land about 60lb of carp to 6lb in a couple of hours - doh!
