Perfect Day
Saturday July 24th saw the
VAC throw open the gates to our Riverside Road fishery for what is now
our annual open day. Blessed again with excellent weather and helped by wide
promotion, the event saw some 700 people come down and check out what the VAC
can offer.
As always, the day is focussed on
juniors with numerous attractions for all ages. And, as in previous years, the
water produced the goods with many youngster getting a chance to catch a fish,
be it a small roach or a chunky carp.
Other displays covered the VAC
portfolio (which includes numerous rivers, lakes and pits), local wildlife organisations,
carp fishing, trout fishing and so much more. If you are one of the many new members who
joined on or shortly after the big day then we hope you are enjoying your first
visits to VAC waters and we wish you tight lines.....

Fishers Green Consortium
As the largest club in the
newly formed
Fishers Green Consortium we are delighted to welcome new members who
are particularly keen to fish the former CEMEX fishery.
We appreciate you have a
choice of 11 clubs so we hope you will recognise the great value the VAC offers
with eight rivers venues, six still water complexes and access to eight
other consortiums in addition to Fishers Green.

Membership for 2010-11 Season
|
Important notice:
We've learnt that some who
were members last year think that if they've not renewed by June 16 then
they have to pay a joining fee again. This is not correct. So long as
you rejoin this season at any time you do not need to pay the joining
fee. However, should you not renew until next season you previous
membership will have been deemed to have lapsed. You will retain your
member ID, it stays with you for life, but if you let your membership
lapse for one or more complete seasons a joining fee will be required
when you come back. If you were a member last season and have not yet
renewed you can download a form, get a form from one of our local tackle
shops or, best of all, renew on-line via
Member Services. Once you have completed your details you will need
to print out and post back the form with payment and pictures if
applicable.

address is registered on Club DB, our membership database, we can't keep you up

Picture Perfect?
Club DB, our
excellent member database, is now serving us well with members able to
log in and update their details at any time.
However, a large number of
members have not yet sent in or uploaded a passport style picture which
we will need to print up your next membership card. We believe we have
now resolved some the technical difficulties but for those who cannot
upload a suitable picture please find time to either email your photo
(quoting ID number) or pop a picture in the post to the Registrar. More
details on the Subscriptions page.

Don't often see one of these. Member
'Shah' caught a sturgeon and this 6lb sterlet at Timberlands, two of only four
stocked.

Young Ryhs Shield is claiming the
Marford barbel record with this 11.01 beauty caught on a boilie.

Here's one from Turnford. Tommy
Stevens is happy with this 29-04 mirror.

The VAC forum gets many arty shots
uploaded but few are better than this from Adam Ellis.

Polefished maggot was the undoing of
Honeysuckle, this beautiful 9lb Koi. Aaron Goodman is the lucky young man.
